Friday, Saturday & Sunday, May 29-31 (9am to 4pm)
Location: PS14: Pershing Studios
Explore the essential techniques for painting from direct observation and photography with award winning painter Patrick Saunders. Learn to paint any subject, from the most simple to complex with one approach. Patrick will discuss the process of choosing, composing and simplifying the subject before moving to finish as rapidly as possible in order to add more energy and excitement to your painting. Students will learn about composition, value, texture, color temperature and accuracy in paint application.
Each day will begin with a short lecture and full demonstration, followed by one on one instruction with students.
Class size is limited to 15, so that each student can receive the maximum amount of interaction with the instructor. A suggested materials list will be provided prior to the class. While Patrick will be demonstrating in oil paint, students are welcome to use acrylic and pastels, as the approach and concepts will be interchangeable.
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN IN JANUARY. PLEASE EMAIL PATRICK TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE.
