As Kimberly and I drove through the Savage River Forest in western Maryland, we notice a large number of trees that had been snapped off at the trunk. We came to find out that the cause was the large amount of snow that Hurricane Sandy had brought all the way to the mountains. The weight of the snow crushed many of the old growth trees. |
